A. S. Mac Master, a brother, writes his sincere regrets and condolences for the recent death of Mrs. J. A. McMaster. He explains that he did not know her during her life but received many reports on her excellent character and purity of life. A. S. MacCarthy, in an attempt to renew his acquaintance with the Ave Maria, submits a collection of short stories of Spanish folklore. Years ago he translated one of them for the Catholic World. MacDonnell claims that despite the heat wave, the climate of Portugal is sensibly colder than it was when she arrived there in 1865 and it is telling on the orange groves. An attack of rheumatism has prevented her from finishing the translation of the Hungarian Tale for the Ave Maria. As for her story, "My Wings", Hudson improved it greatly. Sister is writing a "Life of St Pius V" and inquires if Hudson thinks he can find a publisher. Her friend Monsignor Aloisi Masella is to be nominated Cardinal on June 7. They have had a festival for the marriage of the Prince Royal to the Princess Amelia of Orleans. Their Father Hickey was called on to hear the princess' confession. Their children are embroidering a ciborium veil for Father Joseph Damien DeVeuster, which they hope to finish in time for Christmas.
