The bishop's letter tells the good news that Father Leon De Neckere, C.M. has been named his coadjutor. He is called to Rome for the imposition of hands. Oechtering arrived in Antwerp on May 19th. On May 28th he made his promised pilgrimage to the Shrine at Telgte. The atmosphere is very Catholic, even though the Cultur-Kampf is still going on. Oechtering assisted at the consecration of a new church at Mesum. Bishop Herman Dingelstadt of Munster took part in the ceremonies.
