Murphy is not well and in about three weeks he will go to Galway for a rest. He supposes Hudson received the last chapter or the Irish Legends. Hudson should not believe half of what he hears about Irish outrages, many of the reports are manufactured by the enemy to give reasons for their injustice towards Ireland. Murphy thanks Hudson for the book. Two months ago Murphy underwent an operation, but has recovered enough for missionary work. He has begun the first of his series of seven articles entitled "Spiritual Thoughts" for the Ave Maria, the first of which is called "The Secret of Sanctity." Murphy had cancer of the intestines. An operation was necessary to save his life. He asks Hudson to thank Sister Aloysius for her letters. While Murphy was suffering from the operation he wrote a few lines on God which he encloses at the end of this letter. He gave a lecture on Ireland at Canisius College last Sunday.
