Manogue has no recollection of the letter referred to. No doubt it is among his letters in Virginia City, Nevada, where he lived for 22 years. On account of travelling considerably through the northern portions of the diocese many letters were misplaced. Marchal received the money order this morning. Stoddard's article "Corpus Christi in Molokai" which appeared in the Ave Maria was touching. She was pleased to hear that Hudson is going to publish the article, "Comtesse Rostopchine". This woman was worthy of being Monsignor Louis Gaston de Segur's grandmother. Marchal has not forgotten her commission, but Bonasse, who undertook to strike them promised to send the medals to Marchal within a few days. Failing to do so, Marchal returned to the shop and learned that because of a higher price than quoted the medals were not sent. Since the Franco-Prussian War, Marchal's father, an Alsacian, has been unable to regain his former position. During her stay in Ireland she met Father Matthew Russell, S.J. The second objective of the letter is to collect testimony proving the cures obtained through Our Lady of Lourdes.
