The Archbishop of Cologne has sent to Purcell a letter concerning the death of John Mathias Fischer begging that Purcell obtain the necessary testimony of witnesses for the defensor vinculi. Nothing having been received in reply they have begun to fear that the letter was not received. Bapst is happy to say that the difficulty can e removed easily because of the privilege the Jesuits enjoyed before their suppression, restored by Pope Leo XII, on July 11, 1826. As to the days of ordination Archbishop Francis Patrick Kenrick says they are at the will of the bishop. He then asks that the days for the ordinations be July 16, 17, 18.
