The document was been copied in to a larger cartulary in a contemporary hand, foliated 333-343 (with one unfoliated sheet at end).

The first document is a copy of a 1697 edict issued at Llerena, reproducing earlier edicts forbidding conflicts (verbal and in writing) among religious orders. The bulk of the collection consists of extensive notes on Llerena on various inquisition cases heard circa 1608, 1648, 1655, 1657, etc.

An account of an inquisition trial held in the vicinity of Rome against a woman accused of being possessed by the devil, after she killed someone with a musket while cursing and behaving in an obscene manner. The defendant was condemned to death by the Holy Inquisition.

Inquisitorial trial of Atanasio de la Cruz, Indian of Copándaro, near San Luis de Potosí (Mexico), for having made a pact with the devil. The trial began in Copándaro (1798) but was later moved to the episcopal seat of Valladolid (Mexico). Multiple documents in multiple hands, with signatures of several inquisition officials. De la Cruz was absolved and released in July 1799.
