McGovern wrote the Tribune demanding that Griswold should give written proof of her charge. Gilmore had a story in Leslies recently, which for masterly treatment of character ranks with George Eliot's short stories. A story of hers together with two sets of verses were accepted by the Current, a journal which is widely copied out West. She has written a sketch of Gilmore for the Graphic News.
