They are expecting a cholera epidemic which will ravage Lisbon because the drainage is terrible. The Portuguese say there is no remedy but they are too inert. There is a wave of suicides among young men and women and the journals have agreed not to publish these accounts because it only increases the morbid mania. One of the Sisters seeks some information...
