Ryder was disappointed in Sedalia, Missouri. There was no money in the newspaper, so Ryder moved on to Kansas City, where he has a temporary job with the "Evening Star". At Hudson's request Ryder had some pictures made of himself and when they are developed he will send two to Hudson. Ryder appreciates the poetic rhymes that Hudson sent him.
