The death of Louise Lateau has caused concern and mystery in Dorsey's mind. She is a believer in miracles but it is incomprehensible to Dorsey why a frail girl should be chosen to have repeated the passion of Christ. She has always had misgivings as to the cause, since Dorsey could not believe it was of a supernatural character but believes Lateau was afflicted with a high strain of hysteria and catalepsy combined.
