Scope and Contents

Although still stationed in Boston, Welch was called to Woodstock three times during the last three months. Father Timothy Danahy now has two assistants at Quincy. Archbishop John Joseph William of Boston is beginning to have many priests. The new seminary will open in September at Brighton and the Sulpicians will have charge of it. Father Provincial Robert Fulton is in good health. They are celebrating the golden jubilee of Father Charles Piccirillo, who long resided at Rome as the head of the Civilta. Dr. Theodore Dwight and his wife are going to Nahant. Father A. Sabetti, professor of Moral Theology at Woodstock will publish a book on Moral Theology. Piccirillo has increased their library from 33,000 to 45,000 volumes. Has Hudson seen a book published by Moses King entitled "Harvard and its Surroundings." The Redemptorists in Boston have received a parish. Bishop McCloskey is still with them but he has been relieved of duty. Welch read the poem in the Ave Maria about Father Pye 's floating chapel.
