Neale, S.J., Father James P., Saint Inigoes, Maryland, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1884 May 24
Item — Box: CHUD 6
Identifier: CHUD X-2-m
Scope and Contents
Neale has been talking about a floating church for seven years. It would be the best way to get to all the faithful living along the bays and inlets of the Chesapeake Bay. Archbishop James Gibbons likes the idea. Neale feels he is not the man to carry out the job. A man spoke of giving him $5000 two years ago, but Neale told him there was no prospect of building the church. He had plans drawn up by head of the Charleston Navy Yard. :: X-2-m A.L.S. 2pp. 16mo.
