Scope and Contents
Jarlath does not want the whole series of the Ave Maria. Separate volumes which contain the whole of any series of articles or stories would suffice, since he wants them for a stories would suffice, since he wants them for a circulating library. Jarlath's parish is poor, it is mainly composed of boatmen of the Lakes. They are models of goodness despite temptations to their faith. Their poverty is beyond anything seen outside Ireland. Fifty families are fed every winter at their gate. Jarlath has a book being published by Benziger.
