Edes $100 as she is poor and needs it, but he asks that his name be withheld from her. He forgot to ask if old McBride was yet in Rome. He asks McMaster to give up all thought of hunting for a successor as God will provide one much better than he can. He collected with great care the record of his family from their coming to this country in 1738, their relation to theGreens who came over with Lord Baltimore and theElders. The record brings them to the Archbishop of Cincinnati (William Henry Elder) and the present bishop of peoria John Lancaster Spalding.

She had many offers for the books since that she sent them to Edwards, and was sorry that she had nothing for Father Neithart who learned his letters at her father's knee. Her father taught the parochial school of St. Patrick's, Cumberland, Maryland. Ten of the boys became priests.
