He is in the midst of work in organizing the Catholic Congress to be held in Baltimore in November. Everything promises much. They are preparing for the World's Fair in 1892 in Chicago. Edwards may invite all Europe. (Note: This letter is written on a printed circular inviting all Catholics to the Congress of Catholic laity which is to be held in conjunction with the Centennial Anniversary of the establishment of the Catholic Hierarchy of the United States.)

Onahan is in receipt of many letters on facilities likely to be offered to meetings of different groups during the World's Fair. It will be of interest to Catholic organizations that an elaborate programme has been made up to accommodate a great series of conventions. All groups have been taken into account. Charles C. Bonney has charge of all the arranging. Onahan requests that this information be made known through the columns of the "Boston Pilot."

Onahan returned from a visit to Pittsburgh, Washington, and Baltimore. He saw Cardinal James Gibbons who is pleased with the condition and prospect of the Congress. The question of "The Independence of the Holy See" will be treated by some one the Cardinal shall select. Bishop John J. Keane shall take Education, as head of Catholic University. Onahan was at the University and Georgetown. A letter from the Pope, approving the Congress, is expected soon.

The Directors of the Irish Catholic Colonization Association of the United States give notice that all outstanding stock will be redeemed. The object for which the Association was organized has been carried out. The colonies established in Nebraska and Minnesota are now on a firm footing.
