His superiors think he should not remain near New Jersey, and asks if he can work in McFarland's diocese. He was in Rome with McFarland. He went to Vincennes to see Father H. Peythieu to obtain some relics of the departed Bishops, but without success. Guy Ignatius Chabrat, bishop of Bardstown, Kentucky took some articles to Indianapolis with him.
