A very sad accident has just occurred at Natchez. Bishop James Oliver Vandevelde broke his leg Tuesday evening in a misstep in going down the steps leading to the street. The three doctors who were called spent more than 4 hours in bandaging and putting the leg in a sling. Yesterday on Grignon's arrival from Vicksburg, he found Vandevelde suffering greatly. Whatever the consequences of this fall, it is certain that it will take much time to heal. :: VI-1-i A.L.S. French 1p. 12mo.

Grignon is writing from his bed; he is sure that Blanc has received Father Francis Rene Pont 's letter about Grignon's fall. He is recovering but it will take time. P.S After his fall he was taken into the carriage of Mrs. Elliot who was going by. Dr. Lyle took him back? in a short time; Dr. Stone continues to visit him. :: VI-1-j A.L.S. French 1p. 12mo.

Grignon writes about the little school for boys he has tried to start. Several boys wish to go to college soon. It will be impossible to pay the salary of the teacher but if he had one who could eat and sleep at the house, he could be recompensed by the revenue from the school. If Blanc knows a man who would suit, he is to let Grignon know. :: VI-1-k A.L.S. French 1p. 12mo.
