Grignon, Father Mathurin F., Natchez, Mississippi, to Archbishop Anthony Blanc, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1855 December 3
Scope and Contents
In his preceding letter to Bishop James Oliver Vandevelde, Father Richard B. Hardey asked for his exeat and said that his health would not permit him to return to Vicksburg. It seems that he got no reply; will Blanc send an answer? Grignon has just received Blanc's letter about Rose Hill . All are well. Father Paul Marie Le Corre is going to leave for Jackson next Wednesday. It is best to separate these two as they speak French all the time they are together. P.S. Grignon believes he said the note for lumber was $826.38; it should be only $727.22 but he does not know if the balance due J. Deaver has been paid or not. :: A.L.S.
