In discharge of his duty both to Lefevere and poor McGill, he, asks that McGill be given a trial if he could live with a reliable priest., Whelan has not such evidence of deliberate guilt as to fully condemn, him. He is impudent respecting females, has a tendency to strong drink,, though not habitual, is conceited, and lacks regard for truth. He owes, churches $190, has acted falsely and fraudulently. An article in the Ave Maria announcing that the Tabernacle Society of Philadelphia was collecting for the Sacerdotal Jubilee of Pope Leo XIII, is in Whelan's opinion an error. The Tabernacle Society of Washington sent an Annual Report containing a circular on the subject and requested a notice. Enclosed is a duplicate circular. If the Philadelphia group is working for the same cause may not the circular issued by Whelan's group be noticed in the Ave Maria. :: X-3-c A.L.S. 4pp. 8vo.
