Father Freitag thanks McMaster for the letter and package, and asks to be remembered in the prayers of McMaster's family. Father Freitag will remember McMaster in Mass on Thursday morning. He advises McMaster to bear up under the persecution that may result from his fearlessness, and recommends to him the words of Thomas A. Kempis. If McMaster judges it to be instructive for the students, he is requested to ask Mr. O'Shea to send him a copy. Mr. Rogers of New York was in Annapolis. He has recovered. Frenaye received Blanc's letter in reply to his about the Bouquet children; he sends his thanks and those of their uncle. A copy of Blanc's letter was sent to the mother in Marseilles. Her brother-in-law pointed out that she should come. On Bishop Joseph Rosati' s order, Frenaye sends an interesting notice about the missions; also one for Bishop Chanche and for Bishop Odin Audin. M.J. Hote has approved the departure of his son, Charles A. Hote and has sent $35 to pay his passage. The money arrived after the ship had sailed. Hote has authorized Frenaye to keep $15 and to pay $20 on the board and room account.
