They have concluded to keep their boys at home this year. William J. Frawley and his Mother had an accident with the driving team and were both injured in July. They thought it was better to keep him where they could watch him so that prompt action could be taken if he should be more seriously injured than they know of. They are attending High School there. He received Edwards' letter of the 15instant, with the statement of Dr. John L. Gish. He sends a draft on the First National Bank of New York to pay the bill and the remainder for clothes for his sons. Father Freel introduces Father William Giles, a priest of the Brooklyn Diocese. Instead of coming to Notre Dame himself, Father Freel sends his friend, Father Giles, and begs that he be received greciously at Notre Dame. He has the Bishop's approval. All her visitors are gone. She had been riding some with Mrs. King but as her horse is lame she must content herself with her books. She and her mother want to come to Notre Dame with John this year. She wants to obtain a position teaching in order to send John to school but her grandmother is opposed to her doing anything.

Being a rainy Sunday afternoon she does not think she will have any company. Memphis has "gone to clubs". The Tennessee, Chickasaw, Athletic and the Jockey are the principal ones. Each has a fine club house. She had seven callers in the evening, new beaus and old standbys. She lists them.
