Having a large number of extra and odd volumes himself and expecting that Hudson's collection is in the same condition, Kilroy suggests that they exchange these surplus numbers thereby assisting each other in the acquisition of a complete set. The Archbishop of Toronto appeared annoyed that his secretary did not send what he promised Edwards.The Archbishop promised to send Edwards the "Jesuit" newspaper published in Boston 1829-30, nicely bound. Edwards might pay him a visit. Kilroy left the "Catholic Telegraph" in Windsor with his sister to have it sent from Detroit. He cannot spare time to attend the Alumni celebration.

Latchford in the only Catholic representative in the Ontario government. He is graduate of Ottawa University and is an eminent young lawyer. Kilroy asks Edwards to see that they get the hospitality of the University for a day or so. He is anxious to show Latchford a real Catholic University up to date in many things neglected at Ottawa....

For over five months he has been extremely ill with heart disease. Despite the doctors he is still alive but confind to his room. He has two excellent curates who relieve him of all responsibility. The bishop made him permanent pastor and dean of the diocese. He would like to celebrate the golden jubilee of his ordination. He was ordained at Notre Dame Nov. 26, 1854.
