He rejoices at the success of the new Notre Dame, under the guidance of his friend Father William Corby C.S.C. . He asks to be remembered to Professors Joseph A. He does not have the time this morning for a careful perusal and if the effusion is of any interest to the Notre Dame boys he wants Hudson to correct it and print it or fling it into the waste basket. The Archbishop of Toronto appeared annoyed that his secretary did not send what he promised Edwards.The Archbishop promised to send Edwards the "Jesuit" newspaper published in Boston 1829-30, nicely bound. Edwards might pay him a visit. Kilroy left the "Catholic Telegraph" in Windsor with his sister to have it sent from Detroit. He cannot spare time to attend the Alumni celebration.

It is now five years since he was last at Notre Dame, the guest of Father Corby. He wrote twice to Father Cooney but got no reply. He asks who is Mother General at St. Mary's and if Mother Ascension is still living. He will be 70 years old next month. Had he fot the telegram in time he would have attended the funeral of his old friend Mother Ascension. He is resting at a magnificent sanitarium conducted by the Sisters of Charity. For over five months he has been extremely ill with heart disease. Despite the doctors he is still alive but confind to his room. He has two excellent curates who relieve him of all responsibility. The bishop made him permanent pastor and dean of the diocese. He would like to celebrate the golden jubilee of his ordination. He was ordained at Notre Dame Nov. 26, 1854. He has a beautiful church, convent and school free from debt. :: XI-2-f A.L.S. 2pp.

Forty one years ago on that day he said his first Mass in the novitiate chapel assisted by Father Granger. His audience consisted of the newly organized members of the Perpetual Adoration Society. She received Edwards' letter. Her brother's monument is of granite, designed as a celtic cross ten feet high, the inscription brief and plain. His picture will be sent to Edwards. She had anxiety over his business matters. Her attorney compromised in her favor. She asks if her brother Edmund B. Kilroy was the first priest ordained at Notre Dame. He was ever the sincere friend of Notre Dame and would carefully read and file each number of the Scholastic. He would often visit her in Windsor.
