Hudson, C.S.C.', Father Daniel E., Notre Dame, Indiana, to James F. Edwards, Paris, France, 1889 May 21
To be plain, Hudson discredited the report of Edwards' return to South Bend. He sent him some things to read and wonders what he can do to make Edwards happy. Poor old Brother Columkille died very happily. Mr. Fenelon has received the last Sacraments. Father General Edward Sorin is in Rome. :: XI-1-g A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E., Notre Dame, Indiana, to James F. Edwards, Toledo, Ohio, 1881 July 3
He wished to write Edwards last week, but the Scholastic consumed every moment of his time. Father Steib left for the Trappists at noon. Poor unfortunate. The sea-side is out of the question for Hudson. His lot is to work hard and be ill often as long as he is at Notre Dame. John English is not as well as he was. :: XI-1-b A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.

Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E., Notre Dame, Indiana to James F. Edwards, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, 1909 August 10
He was glad to hear that Edwards is daily gaining strength. Father Smith's appointment is one of the best things Father John W. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. has done; it offsets many mistakes of inexperience. The plastering on the new hall began today. There was trouble securing workmen as usual. Bishop Camillus Paul Maes has been very ill, but is now better. Mr. William J. Onahan was there at the first of the month. Msgr. Linneborn is expected soon. :: XI-2-l A.L.S. 3pp.

Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E.: Notre Dame, Ind(iana) to Monsignor (Robert) Seton: (Jersey City Heights, New Jersey), 1893 October 4
He is sorry not to have received Seton's letter in re the Parliament of Religions sooner; the editorial expressed his deep conviction. He understands the non-Catholic point of view. He thanks Seton for the return of the proofs; this excellent address will make a handsome pamphlet.
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E.: Notre Dame, Ind(iana) to Monsignor (Robert) Seton: (Jersey City Heights, New Jersey), 1893 October 25
He thanks Seton for his many favors to the "Ave Maria" and for his kindness to Brother Jarlath (O' Brien) who tells them that Seton did all in his power to render his stay pleasant and his canvass successful. Many people express pleasure to see Seton's oration in pamphlet form.
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E., Notre Dame, Indiana, to Monsignor Robert Seton, Jersey City, New Jersey, 1886 April 9
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E.: Notre Dame, Ind(iana) to Monsignor (Robert) Seton: (Jersey City, New Jersey), 1886 October 5
He thanks Seton very much for his kind remembrance. The copy is most welcome. He will be obliged to use the short pieces as notes and the longer article will come in nicely some time. If it were on the Blessed Virgin or had a less repellent title, he could use it as a leader. He would be glad to retain Robert's initials; why not give his name?
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E., Notre Dame, Indiana, to Monsignor Robert Seton, Jersey City, New Jersey, 1886 November 3
He finds it impossible to complete a set of the "Ave Maria," but he will remember Seton's request should a set be offered for sale. He likes Seton's plan for a parish library. He hopes Seton will continue his valued contributions. Those notes he sent were read with great interest. :: II-1-b A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.

Hudson, C.S.C. (Father) Daniel E.: Notre Dame, Ind(iana) to (William J.) Onahan: (Chicago, Illinois), 1893 July 30
Father Hudson sends some proofs of the "Announcements" and asks if Onahan can use some copies of the "Ave Maria". The death of Father (Thomas) Walsh, (C.S.C.) is a great loss. Father Andrew Morrissey, (C.S.C.) was not Father Hudson's choice as a successor, though he admits that Father Morrissey may do a better job than some others. Another loss to Notre Dame is Father (Alexis) Granger, (C.S.C.), who was a good friend of Father Hudson.
Hudson, C.S.C., Father Daniel E., to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1880 November 18
He is on his way home and shall leave for Detroit having promised to call there on his return. He fears that he will not be able to call on Edwards' mother and also Father E. Hannin to whom he is indebted for many kindnesses. His trip has benefitted him very much and has also been of no little service to the community as he shall explain when he sees Edwards. :: XI-1-b A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
