The trustees have received the letter dated April 28 which Blanc sent Father James Fontbonne to announce that he had appointed Fontbonne pastor of St. Martin Church replacing Father Louis Dufour who for reasons of health must return to France. At a meeting on May 11, the trustees recognized Fontbonne as pastor. They hope he will inspire the same esteem as Dufour did and they will do all they can to bring about harmony. :: V-5-i A.L.S. The superior of the seminary of Besancon thought it preferable since the number of priests there is hardly sufficient and less probationary time and less money are required. She has been very ill since last Sunday. They have just returned from Milwaukee and will go to Dubuque to see Mount Mellary Abbery. Edwards must have enjoyed meeting his old college chums. Col. West has gotten into quite a difficulty through his defense of "Hancock." There were several articles in the papers about him. West's reply will be in tomorrow's "Milwaukee News."
