Some weeks ago Katherine Tynan' s book was noticed in the Ave Maria but it was impossible to purchase it in America. At Keegan's suggestion, Lawrence Kehoe of the Catholic Publishing Society ordered some copies, but he anticipated poor patronage. Answering Clarke's of Dec. 13, Keegan hardly knows anything about the early life of Bishop David W. Bacon . He lists the birth, studies and work of the Bishop until 1855 when he was made Bishop. Keegan knows little of Bacon's labors. Bishop James A. Healy of Portland invited Keegan to speak on the anniversary of Bacon's death. The Catholic Publication Society Company is neither unfriendly to Notre Dame, nor is its attitude influenced by trade with the University. Kehoe can not see that the C.P.S.C. has been discourteous to Notre Dame. The Paulists own the Catholic World, but not the Society; they never get a dollar from the Society and the Paulists pay for matter published by the Society...
