Edwards should try to be home by the 13th of October. Prof. Joseph J. Gallagher has two of Edwards' classes, and Prof. John F. Fearnley has one. Mr. Maurice F. Egan's house will be on the road to town. No one knows who the new General will be. The mitre has not come. Father John M. Toohey has charge of the Novitiate. Father John Toomey C.S.C. and some of the Brothers left for Austin. Father Hudson is well, but Sister never sees him; the heat is unbearable. She fanices Prof. Luigi Gregori is lost without Edwards. Prof. John G. Ewing has Edwards' history classes. Father Nicholas Stoffel C.S.C. is at Lowell, Indiana but comes to teach his classes. Sister Bermaine is leaving to enter a community in France- -no one will shed a tear after her. Father General Edward Sorin, C.S.C. goes to St. Mary's but not to Council. Things have changed for him there and they are sorry. She names the sisters who left for Bengal, India. Father Regan is as impartial as over.

She wrote to Father Thomas E. Walsh, C.S.C. urging the necessity of having the painting done at once. Luigi Gregori does not want to climb on account of his age, but has agreed to do both for $800.
