Stoddard notifies Hudson that he will leave the Hawaiian Islands on December 15. He will go to San Francisco where he will meet Hudson's agent and then proceed to Notre Dame to begin teaching. At the request of Archbishop Patrick Riordan, the clock was sent to Baltimore for inspection by the Bishops and clergy at the Third Plenary Council.
