Stone, C.P., Father Fidelis, Boston, Massachusetts, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1891 September 11
Scope and Contents
Stone has been skipping about in a bewildering manner. He has received various letters with sensational intelligence from Rome and South America. He sends some verses of Father Edmund Hill, C.P.. Hill is innocent but he confides too much in the public. Lately he wrote asking to be recalled from South America, and a few days later he wrote another letter withdrawing the first. The Argentine mission has recently been transferred to the jurisdiction of the North American Province. It is possible that Stone may not remain long in South America. He expects to sail for Buenos Aires in a month, going via Rome. Hudson might mention in his memento of the dead Fathers John Philip Baudenelli and Gaudentius Rossi who died August 11 and 12. :: X-3-m A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
