Hughes' daughter, Carrie Angela Hughes, has prospects of receiving from the Board of Lady Managers of the World Columbian Exposition an appointment as their representative. She is an expert in embroidery and qualified for the position. Hughes encloses a letter from Mother Angela Gillespie, C.S.C., informing Hudson who she is. Father Edward F. Sorin, C.S.C., has known them for thirty years and he has written Eliza Allen Starr that he would do all he can to help the godchild of Mother Angela.
