Dutton, Ira B. Joseph, Kalawao, Molokai, Sandwich Islands, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1889 December 2

 Item — Box: CHUD 14
Identifier: CHUD X-3-k

Scope and Contents

The papers have been sent to Bishop Herman Koeckemann . Fortunately Dutton did not have to reply for it has been decided to let the question rest for the present on Mr. Hastings' defense. Archbishop John William' inquiries of Koeckemann required a reply and Koeckemann sent a strong one. Dutton sends some photographs of Father Joseph Damien De Veuster and asks Hudson to forward one to Doctor Prince Albert Morrow, another to Father Ralph Dewey, S.J. If he should get any pictures from Doctor Godwyn Swift, he will send them to Hudson. Swift has many negatives of Father Lambert Conrardy and others. Conrardy is a naturally pleasant gentleman, but still a boy in many things. Father Francis X. Dutton in his letter spoke in glowing terms of his visit to Notre Dame. :: X-3-k A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo. 10
