 Item — Box: CHUD 12
Identifier: CHUD X-3-h

Scope and Contents

The poem "Our Lady's Intervention" by J. Ryan published in the Ave Maria of September 15, 1888 reminds Boyle of a similar incident concerning a fire in Gonzales, Texas. The man who invoked the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, told Boyle that he had attended a mission given by Father Arnold Damen, who spoke on the virtue of using the brown Scapular in invoking the aid of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. At the fire he followed instructions. Boyle relates another incident involving the Scapular worn by a Mexican who was being shot by a party of six men. :: X-3-h A.L.S. 8pp. 12mo.
