Dallas, Alexander I., Orlando, Florida, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1888 August 27
Scope and Contents
If Dallas has not written it is due to his change of residence and the yellow fever fright. He regrets to learn of the death of Professor Joseph Lyons which was announced in the New York Freeman's Journal. He notices that Maurice Francis Egan has joined the Notre Dame faculty and Dallas considers him a gain for he is a fine scholar and a true Catholic. Why did Dallas leave Zollwood and come here? Because he could not count on the regular visits of a priest and also discovered the title to his land to be defective and gave it up. Here they have the services of Father J. J. Creed a young priest who attends Sanford and Orlando. :: X-3-h A.L.S. 4pp. 8vo.
