Toohey, C.S.C., Father John M, Watertown, Wisconsin, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1888 July 30

 Item — Box: CHUD 12
Identifier: CHUD X-3-g

Scope and Contents

Toohey just arrived back from giving a retreat for the Sisters of Mercy at Janesville and attending his mission at Fort Atkinson . He is glad Hudson made no addition to what His Eminence wrote. Father James J. Quinn of the Cathedral at Cleveland wishes to continue his subscription to the Ave Maria. He was administrator of one of those poor islands on the coast of Galway or Mayo, who wishes to become a religious after first paying those that enabled him to make his studies for the priesthood. It was Hudson that suggested to Toohey to apply to Bishop Richard Gilmour on his behalf. Toohey hopes those sisters in Fond du Lac won't ask for a nine day retreat with five sermons a day. :: X-3-g A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
