Seymour, Mary Alice Mary Alice V. Fonda, Louisville, Kentucky, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1888 June 25
Scope and Contents
Fonda married Mr. Fonda before a Presbyterian minister yesterday. Father J.W. Dunn was to marry them on June 5th but was called out of town. Her husband's sister in Saratoga telegraphed she was ill. Since he could not be back by the 5th, they decided to be married by a clergyman of Mr. Fonda's faith, especially since her enemies were circulating rumors that it was broken off. On her return, Dunn gave them his blessing stating they did the right thing. Dunn and Sister Mary Joseph of the Convent of Mercy are her only Catholic friends. She is ready to translate the German stories for Hudson. Fonda requests Sara Trainer Smith's address. :: X-3-g A.L.S. 6pp. 12mo.
