Hill, C.P., Father Edmund, Valparaiso, Chile, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1888 June 9
Scope and Contents
Hill submits an article for the Ave Maria. He and his companion went to Santiago to beg. They met with more success than they expected, even though the Archbishop was asking for subscriptions for the new church of San Salvador. In answer to the request of Mother Paul of the Cross, in St. Louis, Hill has written an article on Chile for their magazine St. Joseph's Journal and has asked them to send Hudson the magazine. The Panama route is clear and they ought to get mail within a reasonable time. His sister Amy Hill is visiting Tangier, Africa. At Santiago, in the library of the Lazarist Fathers, he found a work called "E1 Auo Christiano" and on reading the history of St. Hermenigild, Hill found his poem knocked on the head. :: X-3-g A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.
