Stoddard visited some friends in New York, who promised him all kind of aid. He saw most of the sloop yachts in the race, Theodore Vail gave each guest a souvenir. The grand parade was reviewed by the President. Then they all boarded the yacht and joined the Regatta on Long Island Sound.
