Egan apologizes for her delay in acknowledging Hudson's letter regarding publication of her brother the late Patrick Egan's poems. She agrees with Hudson as to the unequal merit of his poems, but when it is considered that he died at the age of 32, the last ten years of his life consumed with the illness that ended his life, one wonders to what heights he might have soared had he lived longer.
