Ryder, Eliot Paul, Saint Louis, Missouri, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1886 March 7

 Item — Box: CHUD 9
Identifier: CHUD X-3-b

Scope and Contents

Ryder has been given the impression that because of his accidental omission of Father Thomas Walsh, C.S.C. from his recent article, he is no longer welcome at Notre Dame, he looks forward to meeting Hudson in Chicago, then he can explain. He criticizes Professor Joseph Lyons for his constant agreement with Hudson on literary matters. Hudson's appreciaton of Ryder's "Louisiana Forest" surprised him and his only reason for sending it was to please Father Adrian Rouquette. Ryder thanks Hudson for the copy of "Troubled Heart" and the clock, which reminded him of Hudson's generosity. The doctor tells him that with the advent of warm weather, Ryder will be physically more comfortable. :: X-3-b A.L.S. 3pp. 4to.
