Van Ness, Elise, Torresdale, Pennsylvania, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 November 29

 Item — Box: CHUD 8
Identifier: CHUD X-3-a

Scope and Contents

Van Ness thanks Hudson for the three books. She thought Hudson knew that her proper name was Madame Elizabeth Ten Broeck, R.S.H., and that she was a religious. Van Ness signs herself E.V.N. to Mr. Patrick Hickey also and she has never sent an article to any other newspaper but the Illustrated Catholic American and the Ave Maria. On December 8th the Misses Drexel will have the Rosary Chapel blessed. Father Ralph Dewey, S.J., is taking over the Messenger and she thinks it will improve. She saw "Lawrentia" translated and not credited to Lady Georgiana Fullerton in the Revue de deux Mondes. :: X-3-a A.L.S. 6pp. 12mo.
