Maes, Bishop Camillus Paul, Covington, Kentucky, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 November 2
Item — Box: CHUD 8
Identifier: CHUD X-3-a
Scope and Contents
Maes sends an article he received from Europe which he thinks ought to be translated and published in the Ave Maria. He thinks Butler's treatise on Purgatory a fitting paper for one of Hudson's "Ave Maria Series". Maes requests that Hudson have the first five articles of the series bound and sent to him. He accepted two lectures in Detroit, because he is driven to get money. Hudson must have noticed the trick Father Ralph Dewey, S.J., played on Maes, writing for some notes to complete his own, then published them crudely. :: X-3-a A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.
