Egan, Maurice Francis, Brooklyn, New York, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 Wednesday
Scope and Contents
Egan sends "An Old Symphony in Honor of Mary." As he cannot get to the Astor Library without the use of much time, he has been compelled to write about the Manoli with the materials he had. He lists the books he had to consult to write this little sketch. Egan will attack John Gilmary Shea next. When will Hudson want a companion to "The Pocket?" "The Life Around Us" will be brought out at Easter. Egan had only twenty pages for Keegan Paul and Co., so they have accepted some sonnets by a young Catholic American, Conde Pallen, which they will bind with Egan's. "Songs and Sonnets" will appear at Easter, too, in London. :: X-2-o A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
