Donnelly, Eleanor C., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1883 June 21
Scope and Contents
Donnelly submits a poem to the Ave Maria entitled, "Painting on Glass". The subject of the poem was a gift from Misses Drexel . They are awaiting its appearance in the Ave Maria. The poem is not inscribed to them because they do not like publicity. The loss of their Archbishop James F. Woods will be sorely felt because he was one of their best friends. Father Pila, a Roman priest, gave Miss Donnelly a paper for Hudson. He was pleased to learn that the Roman letter agreed with the one printed in the Ave Maria. Donnelly's article on "Blessed Rita," pleased him greatly. Donnelly congratulates Father General Edward Sorin on his safe return. :: X-2-l A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
