 Item — Box: CHUD 5

Scope and Contents

After relating how he came to know Hudson, the writer explains his plight. In 1879, he went to Jefferson City, Missouri where his wife's brother is Clerk of the Circuit Court. He began drinking and gave up his religion. His wife remained faithfully devoted by him. He edited a Democratic campaign sheet in Jefferson City. Reason and the faith of his wife aided him to return to the practice of religion and avoid drink. The author will furnish a sketch of his life if Hudson is interested. :: X-2-k A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.
