Starr, Eliza Allen, Chicago, Illinois, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1882 July 11
Scope and Contents
She sends the notices to choose from, but the one from "The Times" is the best. She was glad to see Sister Aloysia, who will tell Hudson about the bust. She will be glad to make the changes in Mr. Durward 's poems. She read Bishop Francis Silas Chatard 's oration with pleasure. She has Mrs. Madeleine Dahlgren's new book. Shall she make a brief notice of it for Hudson? Two newspaper articles, one a clipping and one copied, both dated July 5, 1882, are enclosed. They tell of the monument in memory of Bishop Thomas Patrick Roger Foley, done by William W. Starr, to be erected in the Cathedral of the Holy Name. :: X-2-j A.L.S. 5 pp. 12mo.
