Mr. Van Dyke has taken Marie and Charlie to Port Huron on a pleasure tour. Mr. John Boyle? O'Reilly was in Detroit as poet of the Reunion of the Army of the Potomac. Mr. Van Dyke gave a reception for him and Father Ernest Van Dyke was well enough to attend also. She had a card from Miss Eliza Allen Starr a short time ago. Maude wrote that she had received a remembrance from Hudson. Father Richard Shortis wrote her a long epistle. Sam seldom writes but she knows he is working and is good. She received Communion for him on the anniversary of his baptism on the 2nd. She told Father Van Dyke that Hudson did not write to her because he was afraid of Mr. Van Dyke. :: X-2-j A.L.S. 4 pp. 12mo.
