Ryder, Eliot, Boston, Massachusetts, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1882 February 13
Scope and Contents
Ryder is not recuperating very rapidly. He sends the article "Hawker" together with poems copied from J. G. Godwin 's collection. S. Baring Gould 's memoir is unsatisfactory to Catholic readers, since he maintains that Robert Stephen Hawker 's baptism and reception into the church resulted from coercion. The Annual was noticed in the Boston Transcript on January 30th. Ryder sends copies to Hudson and Joseph Lyons . The sonnets to "D.E.H." appeared in the Transcript of February 4; Ryder sent six copies to Hudson. Today, he mailed the Boston Gazette and the Boston Carrier. :: X-2-i A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.
