Verdan, C.S.C., Father F. M., New Orleans, Louisiana, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1882 February 11
Scope and Contents
Brother Romanus informed Verdan that Hudson is Editor of the Scholastic, which pleases Verdan. Verdan sent a dollar for twenty copies of the Scholastic, number twenty-one, but received only four copies. Since thirty-five students have applied for this issue of the Scholastic he wonders if Hudson can supply the needed number. Verdan thanks Hudson for publishing an article on their St. Isidore Society. So far the school is a success, for the only place that is empty is the infirmary, the rest of the house being so well filled, they may have to begin turning away new applicants.
