Ryder though ill was compelled to go to New York January 28th the trip only aggravated his condition so that he may have to give up his job. While in New York, Ryder saw Maurice Francis Egan, who introduced him to H. C. Brunner, editor of Puck. He will finish the article on Hawker in about 10 days. The Catholic Quarterly noticed Ryder's book, now he is waiting to see what Father Matthew Russell will say concerning the book. A notice of the Annual appeared in the Boston Transcript, January 30th. Ryder sends a copy to Hudson and to Professor Joseph Lyons :: X-2-i A.L.S. 1p. 4mo.
