Seymour, Mary Alice, New York, New York, to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C., Notre Dame, Indiana, 1882
Scope and Contents
Seymour returns to New York after an absence of twenty-five years. She is now alone, but has her faith. Yesterday afternoon Seymour spent with Maurice Francis Egan and his wife. Today the Ave Marias came with Seymour's Vienna Memories. She has another sketch on the death of the Archduke Francis Carl. In society there Seymour will be addressed as Lady Alice, but for general newspaper work the title had best be dropped. It was strange that a foreign monarch found her worthy to be raised to nobility. Egan and T. F. Galwey are the only Catholic gentlemen Seymour knows as yet, but Father Aloysius Jordan of Philadelphia has promised to make her known to Father H. C. Denny of St. Francis Xavier's. :: X-2-i A.L.S. 6pp. 12mo.
