Mrs. Sherman says that the secular press all over the country has published the statement which started in the Ave Maria, that the General gave his consent to his son's entering the priesthood. The General is violently opposed to it, and is greatly annoyed, and complains that the Church has falsely taken his son from him. Mrs. Sherman wants some brief correction made which will attract as much attention as the original statement.
